Mr. John Kozak
President & CEO, Director


John Kozak has been the President & CEO and a member of the Board of Directors for Nordex Explosives Ltd. since 2004. Mr. Kozak has twenty years of experience in capital markets and in taking companies from idea to commercialization.

Prior to joining Nordex Explosives Ltd., Mr. Kozak spent 3 years as the COO for a Corporate Finance firm that specialized in raising capital for small and mid tier companies. Before that, Mr. Kozak was one of the founders of an international technology solutions provider to the banking and brokerage industries where he held several executive management positions including EVP Sales, Managing Director Europe and Director Technology.

Mr. Kozak has a degree from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics (major) and Business Administration (minor).



Mr. Jim Taylor
VP Operations & COO


Jim Taylor was hired as the General Manager of Nordex Explosives Ltd. on April 1st 2003 and is currently the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Nordex, Mr. Taylor has held several executive positions including Chief Financial Officer, President and Vice President. He has also been employed as a business consultant where he demonstrated a level of entrepreneurship in the restructuring and establishment of several business ventures.

Mr. Taylor is active in his community and has served as an elected municipal councillor and has been an executive for several groups including the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Committee where he filled such positions as Chairman, Treasurer and Vice President. He also was the founding President of the local Residents & Ratepayers Association.

Mr. Taylor earned his degree in Psychology at the University of Waterloo.



Mr. John Huxley
Director, Audit Committee, Compensation Committee, Chairman of the Board


John Huxley joined the board of directors in 2007. Mr. Huxley is a former lawyer and also stands as the chairman of the Compensation Committee for Nordex Explosives. He is also director for Kinross Gold Corp. and is a member of a number of their board of directors' committees. Mr. Huxley is also a Director for Phoenix Coal Inc.

Mr. Huxley was a principal of Algonquin Management Inc., the manager of the Algonquin Power Income Fund, since 1997 to his retirement in 2006. Prior to that, he was President of Algonquin Power Corporation, a builder, developer and operator of hydroelectric generating facilities in Canada and the United States.

Mr. Huxley holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.



Mr. Bruce Bent
Director, Audit Committee, Compensation Committee


Bruce Bent was elected as a director for Nordex Explosives Ltd. 2006. Mr. Bent is a chartered accountant and also stands as the chairman of the Audit Committee for Nordex Explosives.

He is currently Vice President of Finance at Mathews SouthWest, a full-service development company, where he oversees all legal, accounting, operational and structural issues. Mathews SouthWest currently controls in excess of $90 million of real estate, has joint venture interest in an additional $40 million of real estate, and is responsible for in excess of $1 billion of construction.

Mr. Bent has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Manitoba.



Mr. Jules Roy
Director, Audit Committee, Compensation Committee


Jules Roy joined the board of directors in 2001. He serves on three TSX listed company boards along with a number of non listed private companies, specializing in the clean-tech sector.

Mr. Roy has 15 years of business experience in financing new company start-ups, investment, management, and real-estate development. He acts as CFO of Roy Investment Ltd. a private holding company established in the early 1960's and is President of Loop Process Inc. a company that recycles waste oxides derived in the steel industry. He was also Co-founder of Process Capital/Advanced Process Fuels a micro refining technology specializing in small turn-key refineries that refine waste hydrocarbons.

Mr. Roy has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Ottawa.



Mr. Bruce Forth
Secretary, Corporate Counsel


Bruce Forth became a director, the corporate counsel and secretary in 2001. He acted as a director from 2001 to 2008 and presently still holds the corporate counsel and secretary positions. Mr. Forth practices law in Mississauga, ON, and his clients include a number of private and public companies listed on the TSX and TSX Venture.

Mr. Forth has a law degree from the University of Windsor.




Thomas P. Gannon BA,CA,CFE
Chief Financial Officer


Thomas Gannon is currently the Managing Partner of Ross, Pope & Company LLP and is a Chartered Accountant who holds a CFO position at a TSX listed mining company.

Mr. Gannon began work at the Ross, Pope Timmins office in 1979 earning his C.A. designation in 1982 and became a partner in 1986. He attained his C.F.E. (Certified Fraud Examiner) designation in 2002. Mr. Gannon is also the Partner of the Firm Registered with the Canadian Public Accountability Board.

Mr. Gannon holds a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario.
